About

Data spaces are key to achieving sovereign, interoperable and trustworthy data sharing across businesses and societies – a key step to the data economy of the future. As the organising partners, embrace this reality and bring together the best skills, assets, and global experience in a central event for data spaces, from inception to deployment.

The organizing partners – the Big Data Value Association (BDVA), FIWARE Foundation, Gaia-X European Association for Data and Cloud AISBL together with the Gaia-X hub Spain, the International Data Spaces Association (IDSA) as well as the Data Spaces Support Centre (DSSC) – represent 1,000+ leading key industry players, associations, research organizations, innovators, and policymakers worldwide. With this cross-industry expertise, resources and know-how, the partners drive awareness for data spaces, evangelize data sharing technology, shape standards, and enable integration across industries.

The DSSC contributes to the creation of common data spaces, that collectively create a data sovereign, interoperable and trustworthy data sharing environment, to enable data reuse within and across sectors, fully respecting EU values, and supporting the European economy and society.

Funded by the European Commission as part of the Digital Europe Program, the DSSC is aimed at the public sector and companies that want to create sovereign data spaces. Therefore the DSSC explores the needs of data space initiatives, defines common requirements and establishes best practices to accelerate the formation of sovereign data spaces as a crucial element of digital transformation in all areas. With the combined expertise of its 12 consortium partners in the project, the DSSC provides the best possible support to data space initiatives on the requirements related to interoperable data spaces.
